My GYPSY HOBO must haves!!
*My multicolored pink bag given to me by a very good friend almost approximately 23 years ago while I was still in college. That bag has been with me almost every trip I have taken so over 40 or more countries.
It recently was with me in Italy!!!
*A sarong!! So multi-purpose. Can be used for a towel, blanket to lay on beach or anywhere like lakes and parks, blanket as a covering!
In Italy, I missed my bus from Salerno to Venice so I spent a night at the park bench. Lloyd Sparks gave me a lovely sarong from French Polynesia that is green with turtles on it! It kept me warmish that night (although it was freezing)!
I also used that sarong as a towel for my body after showers and as a towel to mop off water in that unfortunate flooding of the bathroom in Amalfi that had my traveling partner flipping out and disowning me and our friendship!
The bright side was I had the sarong to make sure all the wet spots were wiped so no one would fall!
I always try to look on the bright side of things and make jokes and laughter out of every single incident. A captain friend once told me that I made everything sound so funny that no one really listens to how bad the situation really was because I make it sound so entertaining and comical.
Like who gets kicked off their first boat crewing as friends?? After a Panama Canal Crossing no less?
Anwyays, my traveling gypsy hobo FEET always keeps loving and dancing!!!
