ENG: LEGEND ABOUT THE ORIGIN OF THE NAME (LOVE)
The King D. Dinis and his holy wife, Queen Santa Isabel, made a longer inn in Leiria, perhaps to rest from the many tasks of their high office. One day, the King, riding on his fiery steed, galloped, galloped, out into the fields, and far away in a small place he saw a beautiful peasant girl like no other had seen for many leagues around. The King fell in love with the peasant and there, in that place, in the middle of the flowering field of poppies and marigolds, a great love was born that day. The King's visits to his great love continued and became known in the surroundings, and in that place they began to call Love.

The Queen also learned of the new loves of the Lord, her husband and King, and to show him her disapproval without offending him, one night she ordered to light the way by which the King, her husband, should return to Leiria. D. Dinis, when he came to the paths, where he was returning, with great illumination, with many hot flashes, saw that there was a silent critical intention of the Queen, and exclaimed: "I have come here blind!" And the place where the lighting works began was called "Cegovim", which, due to a natural popular corruption, is now called Segodim.
