Did you know that, despite being the same language, there are some differences between Portuguese from Portugal and Portuguese from Brazil? The Portuguese left many legacies to Brazil, among them the most striking of all the characteristics of a people: the language. In this video I speak about the two major varieties of Portuguese and my point of view of the differences between them.

///// Por favor, portugueses, não fiquem chateados comigo por tentar fazer o sotaque de vocês. É meio que um incentivo pra outras pessoas também tentarem praticar o português falando com sotaque :)

ABOUT THE VIDEO
---------------------------------
Our good old Portuguese arrived in Tupiniquim territory with the Jesuit priests during colonization. But over time, there have been some changes in the way of speaking the same language. A great truth that hides behind a language is that it is constantly evolving, transforming. Language is a living organism that adapts, changes, absorbs, abandons words and adopts so many others under the influence of other cultures. Therefore, there is nothing more fair than understanding that both Brazilian Portuguese and Portuguese Portuguese have undergone significant changes to be what they are today. The main disparities are related not only to the vocabulary itself, but there are also differences in relation to syntax and phonetics, which we usually call an accent. This disparity between Brazilian Portuguese and European Portuguese is not always perceived in the way words are written, but in the way they are pronounced. Hope you enjoy the video :)
