A bright comet lit up the sky over parts of Spain and Portugal on the weekend.

The European Space Agency shared a video of what is described as a ‘stunning meteor’ on the Spanish and Portuguese border.

The agency later confirmed it was a small comet and not a meteor.

It’s estimated it flew at a speed of 45 kilometres per second before burning over the Atlantic.
