As if wildfires weren’t hard enough to battle, firefighters in Portugal witnessed this phenomenon. It’s a fire tornado, also called a fire whirl or fire devil and it can pack just as much strength as a traditional tornado. Like much of Europe, Portugal is facing an unusually difficult fire season.
