Arguably the most stand out track on the project, listeners have raved over "The Gift" the draw to this song lies in the honesty and depth of the lyrics. "Skin like coffee bean, from a mile away can see the sheen. Heard I was beautiful in spite of, now I know that my beauty was inspired by a legacy of royalty." Leonor affirms, referring to her childhood experience of people being in awe of her beauty then revoking the compliment by adding "For a dark skin girl."
Leonor touches on colorism/featurism in the black community. Yet, not in a manner as if she believes she's a victim, however taking her power back and owning who she is and her roots. Understanding that the things that make her different are the things that make her special. In like manner, if she can embrace who she is, there is likely to be a domino effect for her listeners.
Not to mention the record has a surprise guest, one near and dear to Leonor's heart which is none other than her mom. Leonor inquired if her mom could only give her once piece of advice, to carry on for the rest of her life what would it be. Leonor's mom offered her encouragement in Portuguese which translates in English to "It would be that you continue with your career. That God blesses you, and that you can really make your dream come true. Every day is a lesson, every day is a new day. Don’t lose hope. This is my only advice because it is a dream you desire. To see if you can make it, you have to work very hard for it because some people start and stop start and stop. God bless you, this is my only advice."
