The spokesperson for the family of a British girl who disappeared aged three 13 years ago on holiday in Portugal on Wednesday said police had presented an unusually "specific" profile of a newly identified suspect.
Clarence Mitchell said the police were seeking details about the suspect, "even down to phone calls he received the night before Madeleine went missing. And the fact that he changed the registration of his car the day after."
British police did not name the German man, but said he is 43 and was in and around the Praia da Luz resort area on the Algarve coast at the time Madeleine McCann disappeared on May 3, 2007.
