Where in the past only few entities had the capability to access space, commercialization of space has led to increasing competitiveness and a new-found enthusiasm for space exploration. This increasing accessibility - the so-called democratization of space - provides possibilities for new launch systems, launch sites, re-usable spaceships, space tourism, in-space use of resources, and new human missions to the moon and beyond. How can Portugal capitalize on its unique position on the Atlantic? In what way are Portuguese players already involved in this new development? What further possibilities does this open for Portugal and Portuguese companies?
