Portugal Health Minister Resigns After Pregnant Indian Tourist Dies Due To Bed Shortage

Portugal's Health Minister Marta Temido stepped down hours after the death of a pregnant Indian tourist, who suffered a cardiac arrest in Lisbon. She died while being transferred between one hospital to another due to non-availability of a bed. Health Minister Temido was criticised for her decision to temporarily close emergency obstetric services. She also faced criticism over lack of doctors in hospitals.
