Portugal VLOG: A day trip to Sintra // Pena Palace + Quinta da Regaleira + Castle of the Moors

Today we took a day trip to beautiful Sintra which is about 30 minutes outside of Lisbon, the capital of Portugal. The hills of Sintra have been home to Portugese Royalty for centuries, creating many castles and palaces on the mountain top. Today we visited three of the castles: Pena Palace (my favorite), the Castelo dos Mouros (Castle of the Moors) which had an incredible story of history and was built in the 8th and 9th century, and Quinta da Regaleira which felt incredibly spiritual and magical.

I am so grateful to be able to visit these historic landmarks. It's honestly a humbling and eye opening experience especially to see how humans have evolved. The history, architecture and overall story that these palaces house is truly remarkable. In the Castle of the Moors they have found remains that display there was life on the hills of Sintra in the 1100s. If you ever find yourself in Lisbon, I highly recommend taking a day trip to Sintra. The tour guide we had was remarkable and super accomidating!
