The Girl From Ipanema, composed by Antonio Carlos Jobin. Played here on a Harley Benton SC-450 P90 GT Guitar, with a backing track programmed with "Chordpulse"

The Girl From Ipanema was first recorded in 1962 by Pery Riberio. The original Portuguese lyrics were written by Vinicius de Moraes. English lyrics were later written by Norman Gimbel. The Girl From Ipanema is said to be the second most recorded song in the world after "Yesterday" by The Beatles.

I have quite a fascination with music that we sometimes hear while traveling up and down in a lift, or walking through a shopping centre. I often think that I'm listening to wonderful arrangements, often with very complex chord structures and fine musicianship and people are not taking the slightest bit of notice of it. This "Musak" as it's often called can have a nice relaxing effect and help make getting through the crowds or waiting in a queue to pay for our shopping just a little less stressful.

The Harley Benton guitar is plugged into an "Ammoon Pock Rock" effects processor and recorded straight to PC via a USB.
