They Were Not Nuns!

This is perhaps one of the most underappreciated situations that Catholic guys have ever faced! Curious? Woahh, there was a girl, from Riverside.

I said, hey, you want to go for a pizza?

She said sorry, but I’m already taken.
I said by who? I’d run the world for you!
She looked quietly back, and with a great big smile, she said.
God!! I want to be a nun.

There was an awkward silence…

I said ok, girl. I get where you’re coming from. You want to be holy.
But before I go down that bittersweet road such a peculiar rejection,
Let me tell you a story
It’s called, how to become holy without becoming a nun.
And it goes a little something like this.

Many are the paths to God, and all of us have our own one.
Don’t misunderstand my intentions, the nunhood is great
I’m sure many girls have been holy this way
but all I’m saying is please know you have options! Including me!

The married life is a reflection of God’s own love
For his Church and His Church for Him.
It is one of the two sacraments that are ordered to make you holy through one another .

And then she said, I don’t know what the heck you’re talking about,
Or what you think you’re accomplishing. What makes you think I would marry you
If I literally just said I wouldn’t go out for a pizza.
And that’s when things got real

So began to weigh my options, as I paced back and forth in front of her.
There’s got to be something I can do! I have to try one last thing…
Nope I can’t think of anything. So I’ll just sing the names of saints at her
Until she gets the message.

Saint Barbara Kim, Saint Basilissa of Antioch, Saint Bertilla, Saint Blanda of Rome, Saint Cyriaca, Saint Darerca, Saint Emma of Bremen—Wait stop running!!!
