Trying Hard is a semi-autobiographical web series created, written and produced by Maki
Bonifacio. It follows the story of Makisig “Maki” Bonifacio – a gay person of color from the
Philippines working and living in Nashville, Tennessee. It is directed by Nathan Baer and
starring Maki Bonifacio, with Mick Khoury, Jessie Bell, Aidan Fealy, and Chris Christian.
